Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal Nominations close OCT. 28!!!

LETHBRIDGE – United Way Lethbridge & South Western Alberta and Volunteer Lethbridge are looking forward to recognizing community volunteers for their contributions to the community.
Volunteer Lethbridge Executive Director Amanda Jensen says the nominations are an opportunity for people to recognize the valuable contributions of community builders throughout southern Alberta.
“The Queen was an example of service to the benefits of others, and we can honour those who live in service of Lethbridge and area and its residents,” says Jensen.
The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal is a commemorative medal created to mark the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the thrones of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms in 2022.
United Way Lethbridge & South Western Alberta and Volunteer Lethbridge are accepting nominations until Oct. 28, 2022.
A nominee must:

● be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with a tangible link to Alberta at the time the medal is granted

● have made a significant contribution to Canada, Alberta, or to a particular Alberta region or community

● have been alive on Feb. 6, 2022

● the medal is to be awarded to individuals only, not to groups or couples

● Self-nominations are not permitted

● Area of Lethbridge and southern Alberta, in the limits of Claresholm (north), Taber (east), BC borders (west)
