Dedicated Community Volunteer, Joyce Crittenden retires

Posted on: May 30th, 2017

After more than 32 years of dedicated service to the community, United Way is pleased to congratulate Joyce Crittenden of the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen on her retirement at the end of June!

From the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen Board of Directors:
Joyce Crittenden, Executive Director of the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen, is retiring at the end of June after 32+ years of service.
Joyce has been involved with the Soup Kitchen ever since it began in 1984 in the basement of St. Augustine’s Church. While the Soup Kitchen has changed locations several times, Joyce has consistently welcomed those in need to share a hot noon meal.
The most amazing fact is that she has done this as a volunteer. It will be challenging for the Board to find a replacement who will demonstrate the same level of commitment.
If you have the opportunity, please congratulate Joyce on her accomplishment. She plans on continuing to volunteer at the Soup Kitchen but on a more casual basis.
There will be an event to celebrate Joyce’s retirement – date and location to be announced in the future.
